Peanut Sauce

This slightly spicy, sweet, zesty and flavorful peanut sauce will make the perfect accompaniment to numerous dishes such as lettuce tacos or dim sum or spring rolls.


MAKES 1 BIG bowl


INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened peanut butter

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or 2 tbsp brown sugar or 1 tbsp honey

  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 2-3 tbsp dark soy sauce

  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger or 1/2 tsp dry ginger powder

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 3-4 tbsp hot water to make the sauce thin

  • 1 tsp chili flakes


Method

  1. Blend together all the ingredients listed for the peanut sauce (Alternatively whisk it all in a bowl). Adjust the water quantity as needed to get a thin consistency for your sauce. This will be influenced by your peanut butter as peanut butter comes in difference consistencies. Serve it with lettuce tacos, spring rolls, noodles or dim sum.


Helpful tips

  • Please adjust the sweetness according to our taste

  • You can use any neutral oil such as sunflower oil if you do not have sesame oil.
