Haldi Ka Doodh or Golden Milk

 
 

Brighten up your day with this warm, soothing drink. A wonder spice, turmeric is a natural healer loaded with anti-inflammatory properties.


SERVES: 1


INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup milk (you can take regular milk or any vegan milk)

  • 1 inch piece of fresh turmeric. (If you do not have fresh turmeric, you can use 1/4 tsp of ground turmeric)

  • A pinch of black pepper

  • A pinch of cinnamon (optional)

  • Brown sugar or honey (optional)


Method

  1. Take a pan. Add milk.

  2. Wash and peel the fresh turmeric. Grate it.

  3. Add the grated turmeric and ground pepper to the milk.

  4. Heat and let it come to a boil.

  5. Switch off the gas and sieve the milk into a cup.

  6. Sprinkle black pepper and cinnamon over it.

  7. If you prefer your milk sweet, you can add brown sugar or honey at this stage. Serve hot.
